alilc (Halilts) Elementary serves Kindergarten to 4th grade students. The school focuses on the whole child and meeting students where they are academically and social emotionally. x̌alilc models and explicitly teaches lifelong skills to support lifelong learners who have the skills to work cohesively in a community with a true sense of belonging for all.
x̌alilc has implemented positive behavior interventions and supports focused on three goals: Be Safe, Be Respectful, and Be Responsible (“3 B’s”). Students are explicitly taught these expectations at the beginning of the year in different settings in their building. Students participate in meaningful conversations around what these expectations “look like” and “sound like” in their learning and social spaces. Students are positively recognized for following the three B’s with individual and whole school “Caught in the Act” recognitions. Special Education staff and the counselor provide direct lessons to all students in the school around recognizing escalated feelings, action steps, restoring balance, and repairing relationships.
