Terminal Park Elementary School is excited to serve as a demonstration site for the RREI project, reinforcing its mission to support a diverse community through high expectations and equitable access to education. With a current enrollment of about 650 students, the school has experienced an increase in population due to district boundary shifts. Terminal Park’s vision emphasizes inclusivity, collaboration, and respect, ensuring a safe environment where every individual is valued. 

The school serves a diverse population, with 71.2% identifying as non-white, and has seen notable increases in Hispanic/Latino and Asian students over recent years. To address behavioral challenges, Terminal Park has implemented Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) and partnered with Sound Discipline (now called Belong Partners) to analyze discipline data. Since 2018, the school has reduced behavior referrals from 1,200 to 750 through targeted interventions and a focus on creating a positive school culture. 

The staff have dedicated resources to develop inclusive practices and foster student agency, even creating self-regulation videos to support student well-being. Despite the progress, disparities in behavior referrals persist, with a small number of students accounting for a significant portion of incidents. This data-driven approach enables the school to respond effectively to behavior challenges, ensuring a nurturing environment that promotes academic and social success for all students.
